The Tigers’ World Cup duties will begin on October 17 with a qualifier match against Scotland.

Alongside BCB, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad led by Virat Kohli for the T20 World Cup 2021 on Wednesday night. Ravichandran Ashwin, who played his last international T20 match in 2017, has been called up to this team.

The pace bowling department will be handled by Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, and Hardik Pandya.

However, disputes are ongoing as two wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav did not get a place in the World Cup squad. Left-arm opener Shikhar Dhawan also has been ruled out. Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar have been kept as reserve players.
