The Pakistan Super League final will light up as Tuesday’s tournament will see a new champion. In the big final of PSL 2020 in Karachi, the Karachi Kings take on their biggest competitor, Lahore Qalandars. In the Qualifier against the table toppers, Multan Sultan, Karachi Kings won a thrilling Super Over and reached the PSL Final.
The success of Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam took them through to their first PSL final. Karachi limited Multan to 141 in 20 overs and chased the target comfortably until Babar was in the centre. However, it was Imad Wasim’s 27 runs that moved the game into the Super Over after a slight collapse. Overall, for the final, Karachi has a potent combination of local players and is expected to hold the same XI. With six wins in ten games, they have a strong record against Lahore and are expected to continue their dominance to lift the trophy.
On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars are in superb winning form as they reached the PSL final after being qualified for their first playoffs. It was all about the David Wiese performance that led Lahore to a 25-run win over Eliminator 2’s Multan Sultans. In their pace attack, they have decent batting depth with some severe consistency. For the first time, they have reached the final and are considered to be winning the tournament. Qalandars will be very difficult to beat in the major final on Tuesday, with the help of playing an extra game.
The weather forecast shows that there is no chance of rain during the Karachi Finals. With the dew factor coming into play once more, the temperature will drop to 22 degrees Celsius.
The pitch at the National Stadium is a good one to bat on and this season has seen scores of over 170 being consistently notched up in the PSL.
Although the bowlers have sufficient movement available, the batsmen have been able to make good use of the batting conditions. Nevertheless, in the centre, the batsmen would have to bide their time, and wickets in hand could be crucial to either team’s fortunes.
In the second innings, with dew expected to play a role, both PSL teams could look to chase, with 170 likely to be a par score at the venue.
