Chief curator of Abu Dhabi cricket stadium found dead in his room

The mysterious death of chief curator, Mohan Singh, was reported before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match between Afghanistan and New Zealand at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi yesterday. 40 years old Indian citizen Mohan Singh inspected the pitch for this match but before the start of the match, Mohan’s body was found in his own room.

The Abu Dhabi Cricket officials have also confirmed the news of Mohan’s death but did not reveal the cause of death. However, the local police have already started their investigation process.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) paid tribute to Mohan in an official statement. The council commented that they are saddened by the news and their thoughts and prayers are with Mohan’s family, Abu Dhabi Cricket, and everyone connected with the event.

Mohan worked under former BCCI chief curator Daljit Singh in Mohali before leaving for the UAE about ten years ago. Daljit said that this is very sad news, for him, Mohan was hard-working, talented, and ambitious. He expressed his condolences to the family.

Such news is unexpected during a global event ongoing. Baji is gravely disheartened by the incident.
