BCCI cherishes CPL 2021 schedules to be tilted

Cricket fans complain that last year’s (2020) IPL was postponed by one year due to the T20 World Cup. Asia Cup cricket was postponed for the sake of IPL. The same situation might have arisen again.

The BCCI has asked the England Cricket Board to change the schedule for hosting the rest of the IPL, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19. But the England and Wales Cricket Board did not respond. They didn’t agree with the proposal of the BCCI.

Meanwhile, India has set a date fWICB,or hosting the rest of the IPL in September-October. At the same time, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 will be played on the field. The BCCI has approached the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) seeking a change in the CPL schedule to avoid a clash between the two franchise leagues.

The CPL is scheduled to commence from 28th August. The final is scheduled for September 19. It is also known that the stars coming from that tournament will have to stay in isolation for three days before entering the field in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, there is a risk that multiple cricketers, including many West Indian stars, will not be available in the first few matches in all IPL franchises.

Caribbean stars like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard brought glory to the tournament. As a result, the BCCI has requested Cricket West Indies to make a slight change in the CPL schedule to get them from the beginning, according to Indian media. There is talk of advancing the start of the CPL tournament for a week or 10 days.

A BCCI official involved in the whole process told the media, “We are discussing the matter with Cricket West Indies. It is hoped that if the CPL ends a few days earlier, the cricketers will be brought from one zone to another in Dubai in a timely manner and their required three-day isolation will be completed before the start of the tournament.”

IPL is a worldwide famous tournament and players have also shown their positivity towards this franchise league over years. So, it won’t be a shocking one if the West Indies Cricket Board makes any changes to the CPL schedule.

IPL is going to resume and updates regarding it are coming off and on. For the latest updates, keep an eye on!
