Hardik Pandya (9.5 credits)
This year, Hardik Pandya hasn’t done anything wrong. At a strike rate of 160, he scored 105 runs in five innings. But numbers, in this case, do not tell the entire storey. He still wasn’t at his very best, and aside from the game against KXIP, he didn’t shoot the way he was supposed to.
Add to that the fact that he wasn’t bowling, in the lower middle-order, Pandya plays entirely as a batsman. Therefore, his opportunities to bat are also limited. And, from a pure fantasy viewpoint, with his erratic hitting style, it would be easier to leave him out.
Jasprit Bumrah (9 credits)
Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the T20 format, went hot and cold this season. Though he’s picked up seven wickets this season in five games, he’s not been at his peak.
He went at 8.8 runs per run, far higher than what he usually goes for. Holding someone like Bumrah out of the team is ordinarily risky, but with a few other pacers being in far better shape than him in this game, it would be better to exclude Bumrah.
Rahul Tewatia (8.5 credits)
This season, Rahul Tewatia has been a miracle. He has now also managed to add value in the games after his epic knock against KXIP. But he may be limited in this game. His leg-spin against the MI lineup, which has left-handers like Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan in the top four, may not be very successful.
Mumbai has one of the best bowling lineups. Tewatia does not shoot with the bat with a fatal pace attack as well. Therefore, for this game, it would be best not to be affected by hype and leave Tewatia out.
