Sunil Narine (10 credits)
Sunil Narine is not the bowler he used to be half a decade back and has also begun to be found as a batsman. While his variations are no longer as lethal and batsmen are capable of reading it, pacers have begun to bounce out again and again.
Sunil Narine picked up one wicket giving 22 runs in the first match, but never looked threatening. He was also dismissed for just 9 runs. His performances do not justify his credit requirement of 10 and you can therefore overlook him for this match.
Pat Cummins (9 credits)
In the first match, the million-dollar boy, Pat Cummins, who went for INR15.5 cr at the auction, underperformed tremendously as in his 3 overs he went for 49 runs. He was taken to the cleaners, and the captain Dinesh Karthik did not even have the confidence to finish off his quota.
Though it may be due to initial rustiness, and in this match Pat Cummins may perform better, he’s not as tremendous a bowler in T20 as he is in Test matches. In this match, his teammate David Warner may also be able to line him up, so it is better not to choose Pat Cummins in your team.
Vijay Shankar (8.5 credits)
Vijay Shankar hasn’t been able to perform much in top-flight cricket since being selected for the 2019 World Cup. He bowled 1.2 overs in the last match giving away 14 runs picking up 1 wicket but as a batsman coming in at 5, he was dismissed at a crucial stage in the match for a first ball duck being unable to read a googly.
Even in the last IPL, Shankar was unable to put in any match-winning performances despite getting a lot of deliveries to himself. He is a talented player, but as of now he hasn’t been making use of it, and for this match he can be left out.
